Innovative approach to IOP measurement opens wide possibilities and unquestionable advantages for doctors, optometrists and patients:
quickness and efficiency for doctors and optometrists
comfort and safety for the patient
possibility of IOP monitoring during medicine adjustment
It has no disadvantages compared to corneal tonometers and makes IOP measurement possible in most complicated medical cases:
in patients with cornea pathology and allergy to anesthetics,
after laser refractive surgeries,
after keratoplasty
Diaton-tonometry is the unique Non-Corneal methodology of IOP measurement Through Eyelid. The technical know-how applied in transpalpebral Diaton tonometer makes this device unique in the world.
Diaton tonometer is designed taking into account recommendations of the leading specialists in ophtalmology and practicing physicians. The divice control is realized with one button. The transpalpebral scleral tonometry is unique methodology of IOP measurement. It is the most favourable method to carry out preclinical medical research of the population and , moreover,it works in such complicated clinical cases when it is impossible to use classical tonometry methods.

Important Information about Diaton
Transpalpebral tonometry refers to methods of measuring intraocular pressure through the eyelid.
Nowadays transpalpebral scleral tonometry has no other alternative in the world. It is the most favourable method to carry out preclinical medical research of the population and , moreover,it works in such complicated clinical cases when it is impossible to use classical tonometry methods.
Diaton tonometer is an organic combination of the simplicity of use and reliability of tonometry results.
Approved by the FDA in 2006, the instrument has been the subject of numerous clinical trials, where it has been found to be comparable with the gold standard, the Goldmann tonometer.
The Diaton non-corneal tonometer calculates pressure by measuring the response of a free-falling rod, as it rebounds against the tarsal plate of the eyelid through the sclera. The patient is positioned so that the tip of the device and lid are overlying sclera.
The liquid crystal display of the tonometer shows digital value of true IOP. The position of the patient during the measurement with Diaton tonometer can be sitting or reclining.
